Developed by our specialists, the climate control system for the Kozak 5A is especially designed to cool the rear crew compartment of this universal MRAP armored vehicle, used by the police and special forces.
Our climate control system is developed as a secondary circuit providing comfort in the crew compartment. It functions independent of the main OE installed vehicle air conditioner, which only cools the driver and front passenger. It is a fully functional air conditioner with a separate compressor, condenser, evaporator and control panel.
The system has a cooling capacity of 9 kW and is specifically designed for export to countries with hot climates to ensure crew comfort in extremely high temperatures. For this purpose, an additional high-power evaporator with a separate air duct is installed in the rear part of the crew compartment. It was specially developed based on the customer’s requirements. The air conditioning system can create a comfortable microclimate inside the armored vehicle even at ambient temperatures up to +55 °C.
A customized climate control system providing cooling and heating under extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to +55 °C.
The climate control system for the Khorunzhyi armored personnel carrier consists of a Webasto Thermo Pro 50 Eco independent engine pre-heater, a Webasto Air Top Evo 40 independent air heater combined with customized HVAC evaporators with heating and cooling functions. For the integration into the Khorunzhyi armored personnel carrier, our engineers developed an integrated front HVAC unit with a cooling capacity of 6.2 kW and a heating capacity of 8.5 kW as well as a rear VAC unit with a cooling capacity of 9 kW.
The proposed solution ensures the required temperature inside the vehicle according to the customer’s specified technical requirements.
Kozak-2M1 / Kozak-5
An integrated solution for extending the standard air conditioning system for armored vehicles. For a domestic customer, we equipped the Kozak-series vehicles with an additional evaporator for cooling the crew compartment. According to the technical specification, it was necessary to provide air conditioning for the crew compartment by enhancing the power of the existing air conditioner. The new unit had to be vertical and fit into a 400 mm niche. Thus, to meet the customer’s needs, our engineers calculated the required power and developed the new Kyiv-50 evaporator, which became the ideal universal solution for the entire series of armored vehicles. The evaporator is housed in a metal casing combined with an air distributing system.
In addition to the air conditioning system, a heater for preheating the engine is installed, allowing for a quick start without additional wear on the vehicle’s engine. An autonomous air heater for the cabin is also included. This allows for the effective use of the vehicle in harsh operating conditions, ensuring comfort and reliability regardless of the climatic circumstances.
